Each hutch is fitted with galvanised wire mesh to keep your rabbits safe while protecting them from predators such as snakes, foxes and cats. Selected “Deluxe” models include added features like stainless steel fly screens to deter mosquitoes and secure bases to prevent rabbits digging out or foxes digging in.

Rabbit Runs

Our rabbit runs can be used as freestanding runs, giving your bunnies a safe outdoor space to play and exercise, gaining valuable mental stimulation. Or they can be attached onto an existing rabbit hutch as an extension run, giving your pets more room to enjoy their home.

Made with sturdy fir timber frames, the runs are durable for outdoor use and completely safe for your rabbits to chew on (because we know they love to nibble!). The galvanised wire mesh across the top and sides keeps your pets secure inside while keeping predators out, so your rabbits can enjoy the fresh air without you needing to watch them every moment.

Rabbit Breeding Banks

A rabbit breeding bank is a purpose-built hutch designed for safely housing rabbits during breeding. It includes two fully divided sections, allowing you to keep males and females separate when needed, with the option to open a connecting door at breeding time. This setup gives you greater control while also being more practical and cost-effective than purchasing two separate hutches.

The Somerzby Deluxe Double Breeding Bank features metal tray floors on each level for quick, easy cleaning, along with fly screens to reduce the risk of mosquito-borne diseases.

Chew-Safe Timber

Most Somerzby rabbit enclosures are built from durable Chinese fir timber, a natural wood that is completely safe for rabbits to chew. Since chewing is a normal and healthy behaviour for bunnies, you can feel confident knowing the timber won’t cause them harm. Each enclosure is also finished with a non-toxic, water-based stain, adding extra protection against the weather while remaining safe for your pets.

Are rabbits happier inside or outside?

Rabbits can be housed indoors or outdoors, depending on your setup and lifestyle. Outdoor hutches offer fresh air and usually more space to exercise, though you may interact with them less frequently. Indoor hutches allow for closer companionship and easier supervision, but they require daily cleaning to prevent odours.

How long can rabbits stay in the hutch?

Rabbits can stay in their hutch full-time if it is large enough to provide ample space for resting, hopping and stretching. Even then, we recommend you let them out occasionally for mental stimulation by exploring your house or your yard in a playpen. Smaller hutches require more supervised time outside each day in an exercise area.
