Explore Our Range of Guinea Pig Hutches

Small Guinea Pig Hutches

Our small guinea pig hutches are ideal for families with one to three cavies. They’re perfect for smaller spaces such as patios, balconies, or compact backyards, and can even be kept indoors. If your guinea pigs have daily access to a safe outdoor run, a small hutch provides more than enough space for resting and shelter.

Large Guinea Pig Hutches

Our large guinea pig hutches are perfect for owners who want to give their pets plenty of room to explore and play. They’re ideal for housing larger groups of guinea pigs or for use in spacious backyards. With ample space inside, your guinea pigs can stay active and entertained without needing daily outdoor exercise. The extra room also provides valuable mental stimulation and a more enriching environment.

Mobile Guinea Pig Hutches

Our mobile guinea pig hutches, the Lodge and Holly, feature sturdy wheels on one end for easy movement by a single person. Regularly repositioning the hutch helps protect your lawn from damage while giving your guinea pigs access to fresh grass. You can also move the hutch as needed for comfort, keeping your pets shaded on hot days or sheltered from wind and rain in cooler weather.

Guinea Pig Hutches with Fly Screen

Our Deluxe guinea pig hutches feature both stainless steel fly screens and wire mesh on the sides to help reduce mosquitoes and flies. Unlike plastic alternatives, the stainless steel screens are durable and resistant to chewing. While no hutch can be completely bug-proof, these screens offer an added layer of protection against pests, helping to reduce the risk of fly strike and providing a safer, more comfortable environment for your guinea pigs.

Why Choose Somerzby’s Guinea Pig Hutches?

Easy to Access

All Somerzby guinea pig hutches are designed with multiple large doors for effortless access. No matter where your guinea pig is in the enclosure, you can easily reach in to pat or pick them up. The spacious doors also make cleaning quick and simple, ensuring there are no hard-to-reach corners inside the hutch.

Made from Safe Materials

All Somerzby hutches are crafted from Chinese fir timber, a soft, non-toxic wood that’s safe for your guinea pigs to nibble on. Chewing is a natural behaviour that helps their teeth stay healthy, so our hutches are designed with this in mind. The timber is finished with a non-toxic, water-based stain, ensuring a safe and durable home for your pets.

Offers Both Shelter and Run

All Somerzby hutches feature two sections: a fully enclosed shelter and an outdoor wire mesh run. The shelter provides a safe, cosy space for your guinea pigs to hide, sleep and stay protected from the weather. The attached run gives them access to fresh air, sunshine and space to exercise, helping keep them healthy and mentally stimulated.

FAQ

Do guinea pigs like 2 level cages?

Many guinea pigs enjoy using two-level hutches, especially when the ramps are gentle and easy to climb. When introducing your guinea pig to a ramp for the first time, use treats to encourage them and allow them to explore at their own pace. Ramps are not recommended for babies, seniors or guinea pigs with mobility issues.

How often should you clean out a guinea pig hutch?

The frequency of cleaning depends on the size of the hutch and the number of guinea pigs you have. Smaller hutches with multiple guinea pigs will get dirty quicker. We recommend spot cleaning every day or two by removing obvious messes and uneaten vegetables. A full clean-out once a week is ideal, replace all bedding, wipe down panels and remove any spiderwebs to keep the hutch fresh and hygienic.

How to prepare a guinea pig hutch?

When setting up a guinea pig hutch, line any solid bases or trays with absorbent bedding. You can use disposable options (wood shavings, shredded paper, straw) or washable alternatives (fleece liners, vet bedding). Include multiple water bottles, a food bowl, hay rack and hidey houses.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY

We don’t like to brag, but we don’t mind when our customers do! Here is some recent feedback from Google Reviews and Product Review from Aussie pet owners.

The enclosure I bought was just right. My whole experience with Somerzby was easy and professional and I wholeheartedly recommend them.

Mary Goldstiver / February 2026

The prices for this crate are beyond excellent and will be recommending them to others. The crates are well made and exceptionally reasonably priced compared to others that are overpriced.

Renee Hatton / January 2026

It is a great cage. Service was excellent. Would definitely purchase from Somerzby again.
