Our Story

We’re Ian and Toni, a married couple based on the Central Coast, NSW, and we’ve always shared a love for animals. In 2010, we turned that passion into Somerzby, starting out by selling timber rabbit hutches from a small warehouse in Somersby. From day one, our goal has been to create products that make life easier for pets and their owners. By listening to customer feedback, we’ve expanded our range to include chicken coops, dog crates, and cat enclosures, constantly improving our designs with practical features that make a real difference. As pet owners ourselves, we use Somerzby products at home to ensure they’re safe, durable, and truly built for purpose.

Our Mission

Proudly family-owned and based on the Central Coast of NSW, Somerzby is built on a shared love for animals and a commitment to quality. Our team takes pride in crafting safe, durable and thoughtfully designed enclosures that give pets across Australia a happy, secure home.

Ian – Owner

Ian co-founded Somerzby in 2010 and oversees everything from product design to warehouse operations and supplier relationships. 

At home, Ian shares his love of animals with Toni, caring for their two Cavoodles, a rabbit, three guinea pigs and a flock of chickens.

Toni – Owner

Toni is the co-founder of Somerzby and oversees customer orders, supplier liaison and accounts.

Toni shares her home with Ian and their pets, including two Cavoodles, a rabbit, three guinea pigs and backyard chickens.

Samantha – Team Leader

Samantha joined Somerzby in 2018 and is now the Team Leader, supporting the office staff and keeping daily operations on track. She also manages our website content.

In her downtime, she’s cuddling her Chihuahua, Miles.

Kimberley – Customer Service & Dispatch Coordinator

Kimberley has been part of the Somerzby family since 2016. She makes sure every order is packed with care, works closely with freight companies, and is always ready to help customers with a friendly smile. 

At home, she loves spending time with her Groodle, Peaches.

Paige – Social Media & Design Coordinator

Paige became part of the Somerzby team in 2023, bringing creativity to social media and design to connect with customers and showcase our products. 

Outside of work, she spends her time with her Cattle Dog, Scout.

Damian – Warehouse Manager

Damian joined the Somerzby family in 2024 and plays a key role in keeping our warehouse running smoothly. He prepares and dispatches customer orders and ensures incoming stock is handled with care.

At home, he’s playing with his cat, Jade.

Piper & Luka – Product Testers

Cavoodles Piper and Luka, owned by Ian and Toni, love visiting the office. They test all new dog products to make sure everything meets Somerzby’s high standards and have fun doing it!

Pet Safety

Your pets’ safety is at the heart of everything we do. Our products use untreated timber, non-toxic finishes, and rust-proof wire, along with predator-deterring features, so you can relax knowing your animals are secure, even when you’re not around!

At Somerzby, we believe every Aussie family should have access to safe, well-made pet enclosures. By keeping margins low and finding cost-effective shipping solutions, we offer products that are both high quality and reasonably priced, so caring for your pets doesn’t have to break the bank.

FSC Certified Timber

We source all our timber products from factories that are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). This means the wood is responsibly sourced from forests that are carefully managed, helping protect the environment and support sustainable forestry.
