Small runs are ideal for housing two or three guinea pigs. They’re perfect for compact backyards or for owners who want something lightweight and easy to move around. Our Villa Run is a great option. It measures 180 cm long and can be attached to the small Villa Hutch to create a spacious outdoor extension for your pets.

Large Guinea Pig Runs

If you have a spacious backyard, a large run is a great way to give your guinea pigs plenty of room to run, play and popcorn with joy. Bigger runs can even fit a small hutch inside or provide enough space for children to sit and interact with their pets. Somerzby offers three larger options, the Mansion Run, Cabana Run and Large Run, all designed to keep your guinea pigs active and safe outdoors.

Outdoor Guinea Pig Runs

How much exercise do guinea pigs need?

Guinea pigs need plenty of space in their enclosure to move around all day, running between their water bottle, food bowl, and interacting with other cavies. We also recommend giving them at least one hour outside their cage each day for a supervised run, which provides both exercise and important mental stimulation.

Can guinea pigs roam free in the garden?

We don’t recommend letting guinea pigs roam freely, as they can eat toxic plants, get injured by other pets or wander off. Even brief moments of unsupervised time can be risky. A secure outdoor run is the safest way to let your cavies enjoy the garden while keeping them protected.

How big should a guinea pig run be?

We recommend at least 1 square metre of run space for two guinea pigs. Younger guinea pigs tend to be more energetic and benefit from extra room, while older ones may be content with slightly less. In general, the more space you can provide, the happier and healthier your pets will be, so bigger is always better when possible.
